About Us
Hey! Happy Makers is more than an art studio…it's a space for young artists to thrive, explore their imaginations and feel confident in their creativity.
Hi, I’m Paola Parsons, the founder of Hey! Happy Makers. The idea for this studio was sparked while volunteering as an art teacher in my daughter’s class. Almost instantly, I realized that this was more than helping at my kid’s school, this was a calling. Working with kids and sharing my passion for art and creativity has brought me more joy and fulfillment than I could ever imagined. After three years of volunteer teaching, I decided to take the leap and set out to build a life where I could continue to do it as a career– and Hey! Happy Makers was born.
My journey in art began in childhood, getting crafty with whatever I had lying around, begging for trips to the art store, spending extra time on the creative parts of school projects– art has always been a part of my life. This early passion led me to pursue a degree in graphic arts. Following school, I embarked on a decade-long career in design and advertising but something was always missing. I never felt like I was using my creativity in a way that felt meaningful. Once I became a mom, my art found a new release. From my kids, I have learned to let go, be brave, and explore my creativity in ways only kids intuit. Those feelings of creative freedom, discovery and exploration is at the core of Hey! Happy Makers.
